About Trail Breaker Veterinary Services
Trail Breaker Veterinary Services started as a partnership between 2 Alaska buddies dedicated to promoting animal and human health throughout remote areas of this amazing state. The team has evolved over the last 2 years, and we've been so lucky to work with amazing animal care professionals from around the country. Trail Breaker now has a core team that is dedicated, skilled, and adventurous. We all share core values of compassion, integrity, sustainability and adventure.

Dr. Emily Iacobucci
Veterinarian
Dr Iacobucci has been practicing general and emergency veterinary medicine in remote Alaska since 2018. During this time she has also volunteered veterinary services for the Yukon Quest, the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration, and Alaska 4-H. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2018, along with a Certificate in Global Animal Health. She completed training in veterinary Acupuncture through Chi University. Dr. Iacobucci first came to Alaska in 2008 from hometown of Boston to work with sled dogs, and quickly fell in love with the culture and beauty of the state. She worked for 6 years in Denali National Park before going to veterinary school, and rushed back to AK as soon as she graduated.

Stacey Cureton
Lead CSR and Bookeeper
Stacey brings a lifelong passion for animals and over two decades of diverse experience to the Trail Breaker team. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science with a concentration in Animal Behavior from Virginia Tech. Her professional background includes work as a dog trainer, science educator, business owner, bookkeeper, and executive director of a non-profit animal shelter. As a rural Alaskan resident of 13+ years she understands firsthand the unique challenges pet owners face in remote Alaska, where veterinary care is limited. Her goal is simple: to make a positive difference in the lives of both pets and their people across the state. Outside of work, Stacey enjoys quality time with her longtime partner, their two adult daughters and grandfur babies, and her beloved senior Alaskan mutt—affectionately known as her ‘Haines 57’.
